Red River Charolais is located 1/2 mile from the Red River. Ron Fuqua's roots go back at least 3 generations on the river where his great grandparents depended on the river for their livelihood. Great Grandmother Garlington lived in Effie during the Civil War.  Great Grandfather Michot was a bookkeeper on one of the many Red River ports and raised 8 daughters and one son on the river.
